Six brand new stories from 6FootStoriesShattered Fragments is our semi-regular night of brand spanking new work. We present six sparkly new fragments of work, stories that we'd like to explore further, and ask our audience what they think. We aim to get as much feedback as possible from our audience, and then use their ideas to develop the work.
Our last two full length plays, Soften the Grey and The Number of the Beast, were first presented at Shattered Fragments. It's a really important part of our creative process, and we're very proud of it. You can expect all manner of strange and unsettling stories at a night of Shattered Fragments. Black magic, ghost stories and twisted fairy tales all make an appearance. If you want to join us on a journey to the depths of our imaginations, then we welcome you with open arms. The last Shattered Fragments happened at The Bread and Roses Theatre, Clapham on 15th, 16th & 17th May 2016. We collaborated with sublime clowns Alice Devlin and Lisa Maria Berg, as well as the incredibly talented Georgia Murphy. Our recent collaborators...At the last Shattered Fragments we collaborated with other writers and directors for the first ever time. We worked with writers Jarek Adams and Chris Macdonald, who presented two brand new pieces, and Perch Theatre Company who presented an excerpt of a show they're currently developing - The Haunting of Godstow.
Jarek Adams is a writer from Gloucester, who describes herself as "dark and dirty with a smattering of humour". We presented Jarek's dark story Urban Myths, a strange tale about a deal with the devil. Jarek is currently developing her play Maskelyne the Master Magician, which will be performed in May at the Cheltenham Playhouse. For more info go to her website, www.jarekadams.com. Chris Macdonald is an actor and writer from London. We worked on his brand new play Renewmeration, a disturbing glimpse of a future where energy is at an all time low, and the price for exhausting it is death. Check Chris out on Twitter. Perch Theatre Company was founded by Arthur McBain and Owen Jenkins. Their mission is to create thrilling theatre that is designed for genuine audience reactions. Think Woman in Black for a new generation. Find more out on their website, www.perchtheatrecompany.com. |
We can't do this alone!Well, we can, but we don't want to.
We're very keen to work with new writers and companies that want a chance to present a new idea. Of course, this isn't any old new writing night. We want to present stories that bend the rules, that take the audience to new worlds; stories with a little bit of magic. Have you got something you think would be perfect for 6FootStories? Do you want to work with us to try out your idea in front of an audience? Then get in touch here.
